New Musical Sensation in Haley-Ville

I have found a new band!!!! It's called The Mitch Hansen Band, and the songs are so pretty and sweet,I just about cried when I heard the song "By You". If you want to hear them, just search them on Youtube or possibly iTunes. I will put the lyrics to a song by them called " Thorn." Oh,and this band writes only about Twilight-ish stuff. This is a Rosalie song.
Thorn by The Mitch Hansen Band
I can't remember when I've seen someone like you
You're captivating, it's true
All eyes on you my dear they're stuck to you like glue
Anticipating each move
Grace beyond beauty
Mysterious, too
No wonder she hates me
It's cruel
There's a pain underneath her
That makes her just a bit more forlorn
And her hate is directed at me
Don't you see and so obviously
This Rose has thorns
In case you're wondering I'd like to be your friend
Your bitterness never ends
I hope the time comes soon when you can smile at me
I guess that all just depends
Tell me your story
Don't hold any back
Take out your baggage
It's time to unpack
There's a pain underneath her
That makes her just a bit more forlorn
And her hate is directed at me
Don't you see and so obviously
This Rose has thorns

I HAVE RETURNED FROM SPACE CAMP!!!

Yep,it has happened! The 6th grade just returned from space camp this afternoon. It was amazing. I loved everything. I just want to say a few things about a few astronauts before I begin.
Alan B. Shepard. If you all know what happened with him,you don't have to read this. So he was getting ready for a mission. Right when he was about to take off, they discovered a little problem. Alan had had a lot of liquid that day and called his friend at mission control and was like,"Umm....Guys? I sort of....uh....have to pee." They told him to wait for a few more minutes, that the flight would only be 15 minutes. Well,it took 4 more hours before they took off. Alan had to pee pretty bad. "LET ME PEE!!!"he was probably yelling. They wouldn't let him. He peed in his flight suit. Got in some trouble with NASA.
Our next guy is named Gus Grissom. He was allowed to name his own little ship I guess it was called. He named it Liberty Bell, and drew a crack in it as a joke. Well, when he landed in the ocean,it just so happened that the door happened to crack. He jumped out of the thing into the ocean. Got in trouble with NASA. He was about to name his next thing Titanic, but NASA was like "Uhhh....no."
I loved space camp so much. I got to see rockets, launch my own rocket, and ride a ride that scared the crap out of me.

American Idol BUZZ!!!

Well,it's getting to be that time. Who will win Idol? Who will lose? I just finished watching tonight's episode and I was quite pleased. Adam wasn't my favorite,Danny was alright, and Kris was hot and amazing. Who do I think will win? Kris. Kris all the way. He is so hot. And he sings. And plays guitar. And piano....He got the whole package.

The News In Talent Show....Ness.

Ok,anyone wondering who that is? Well,it's Journey!!! And it's up there because in Holston's Talent Show,me and a few other girls will be singing "Don't Stop Believin'" Well,we aren't positive if we are actually gonna be in it,but it's a pleasant thought. We are having our first practice tonight, and the auditions are on Monday. Yeah,we could be in big trouble. But...I doubt it,considering we are awesome. Wish us luck!

A New Fave Website

I have been visiting the site pandora.com a lot lately. It's so cool. All you do is type in a song or an artist that you like, and it will find songs by them, and songs or artists that are similar. Like if you type in Journey, you'll get Journey and maybe Queen and The Beatles and other bands you may not know. Plus,if you hate one of the songs, you just click a little thumbs-down button, and pandora will never play that song for you again. So check it out!

I Have Finished My Book!!!!

Well, as you all know,I have spent over 6 months working on a book (lol,my parents won't know about it until they read this....). And I have FINALLY finished it! It's called "Oh,the Joy" and is about a girl named Juliet who experiences some serious drama in her life.
This book contains romance, betrayal, and,of course, quite a few tears.
I am also working on some other types of books. The current favorite of the 3 is "The Cigarette Store". Everyone who has read what I have so far are very eager for me to finish (though that does put me under a lot of pressure). Those are my 2 "famous" books. The other books are just for my benefit.
I have to thank my best friend,Kelly, for agreeing to being my illustrator for "The Cigarette Store" and my other best friend,Sydney Travirca, for giving me inspiration and just letting me be crazy and have mini-meltdowns. I love you all,my groupies! Write on!
Yours truly,
Writer

The Band Concert

Well, right now it's about 10:00,and I'm writing about the amazing band concert we just had. For those who don't know,I play clarinet in the band along with Meghan Lyon,Jenna Gillmore,Brianna Watkins,Caitlin Hodgson,....and I think that's all (forgive me if I forgot you).
The 6th grade band played Dragon Slayer,Safari Drums Rock,Legacy of Heroes, and the highly anticipated Surfin' USA. I must say that it turned out very well. I didn't recognize that many mistakes in any of the performances. My favorite piece was definitely Dragon Slayer.
The awards were also presented at this concert. I can only remember the 6th grade MVP's so sorry older people who most likely don't even read this. The MVP for woodwinds was...Miss Meghan Lyon!!! Woot! The MVP for brass was, amazingly,Ally Anders (who claimed she felt guilty for winning it because she never turned practice charts in like Mr.Nichols said). And the MVP for percussion was Cody Hilton.
The 7th and 8th grade did very well, too. They played 4 songs called Pegasus,Calvary,Rain, and the famous song that won 2 GRAMMYS (sorry for the caps, but Mr.Nichols said Emmys.) Viva La Vida by Coldplay. I loved all of these songs but my top 2 would have to be Rain and Viva La Vida. Rain had an awesome rain stick type thing and the base drum was supposed to be like thunder. In Viva La Vida,it was so cool,it sounded like the real version.
Of course,I have to give credit to the band's most awesome director ever,Mr.Nichols. He only gets sort of annoyed when we talk a lot during rehearsal, which we know we shouldn't be doing,so we're sorry lol. He worked so hard this year to make us good enough for this concert. Thanks,Nichols!!!!
Should I give a critique on this? I think I should. I give this concert....5 STARS!!!!!

A few days ago,I watched the ancient, yet classic movie,Annie. This movie is about a little orphan with a big heart. The woman who runs the orphanage is a real pain in the butt,if I do say so myself. Well, there is this rich dude named Mr.Warbucks ,I believe. He offered to keep an orphan at his huge house for a week. Of course,Annie was chosen. when Warbucks met Annie,he wasn't really pleased, but later in the movie he loves her and wants to adopt her. Annie is like "Um,thanks but no thanks,I'm waiting for my real parents." Warbucks is all like "Oh ok,I'll use my money to hire searchers and all that junk. You'll have your parents in no time, fro fro."
Of course, every movie must have conflict. These two creepy friends of the orphanage runner pretend to be Annie's parents. The guy who pretends to be her dad gets really mad at her and tries to kill her, which doesn't work out too well for him in the end. Annie wins, orphanage runners lose. The End.
My review is....5 stars! Mainly because the songs were catchy and it was funny to watch Annie beat up a few guys....lol.

My Review On Marley & Me

Well,I watched Marley & Me yesterday,and....it was not bad at all. Some parts were a little...strange...but I thought it was really funny and what family magazines would call,"fun for the whole family!" Except for the cussing and inappropriate things that won't be named.
Anyway, this movie is mainly about John Grogan (who wrote the book Marley & Me) and his wife,Jenny Grogan. John is some reporter/columnist type of guy. Well,on Jenny's birthday,John decided to get her a puppy. The puppy was Marley, obviously. Marley was titled "worst dog ever". Well, once there are 3 kids in the family,Marley is very old and very sick. So old and sick, that he must die. Sad,I know. But I didn't cry. My mom did. And I think my sister did. My dad fell asleep...lol.
My review is....4 and a half stars.

My Review On Bride Wars

Well, yesterday I watched the movie "Bride Wars". This movie stars Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway. The story is about two girls who have been friends since forever, and whose dream has always been to get married in June in what they call the Plaza. One day, when both of the women are engaged, they go to the wedding coordinator. Her assistant accidentally made both weddings on the same day...and the same time. So now it's a fight for the date of the wedding.
This movie was not as good as I had hoped. I do admit that it was very funny in some parts. The actors were very good. All in all I give this movie.....3 and a half stars.

Haley's Week In Fashion

Ok,so we all know about the famous scarves. And we all should know that they are my latest obsession. I have worn a scarf nearly everyday this week. I have now discovered (due to my research in scarves...lol) that scarves can be worn LOTS of different ways. You can wear them like me,I don' t tie them or anything. I let them hang there and look great. Other people tie them right next to their necks,or down far from their necks. Some people make them look sort of bandana-ish. Some people wear them as headbands, which I would love to do,my hair is just too short. I have 4 scarves. I have a purple cheetah-ish print. I have a green tie-dye one. I have a blue polka-dot one from American Eagle (thanks to Kayla Duncan for getting that for me). And I just bought one yesterday. It is gray plaid and has light green highlights with it. And even better,IT WAS ON SALE!!!
Another trend I am fond of,is the total mis-matching with color. I am in the process of mastering it without overdoing it. Say I have a yellow t-shirt. I can put a vest over it with a pink necklace, even. Maybe a nice green bracelet and a rainbow ring. Yellow goes with lots of stuff. All colors go great together if you TRY to get them together.
The one last trend I love,is the art of painting your nails all the same color except for one (Tavi's trend as I call it). Painting your nails can make your look complete! And if you have long nails, like me,they are gonna look kinda screwed up after awhile. But if you have short nails,it most likely stays on longer. This has been Haley's Week In Fashion.
